Prize drawings fundraiser at Arts on the Green this Saturday

Please join us at the Arts on the Green open house event this Saturday, May 2.

A PTSA hosted prize drawings fundraiser will be among the many showcases and activities planned for the Arts on the Green. The prize drawings will raise funds to support Hoover.

PTSA and 8th Grade Dance Meetings on Wednesday April 22nd

Thank you Hoover families for your continued support! Please plan to join your PTSA team this Wednesday at 6:30 in the library. We have the opportunity provide input concerning the spending of Measure H funds at Hoover. The district has proportioned over $260,000 for our school. There will be open discussion for parents to share their perspective on what projects could have the biggest impact on student success. We will also share great plans for the upcoming May 2nd Arts on the Green open house and festival. We truly value your participation.
Finally, as a bonus, If you’d like to be part of the 8th grade promotion dance planning, join us a half-hour early for discussion and planning, 6:00 in the library! Otherwise, we’ll see you this Wednesday at 6:30 for a terrific meeting.

Join us at the next PTSA meeting on Wednesday March 18th at 6:30PM  in the Media Center (Library) in the main Hoover building.

Key agenda items for the March 18th meeting:

  • Election for next year’s PTSA leadership positions.
  • Upcoming PTSA fundraising/events.
  • Proposed bylaws change to increase PTSA dues from $10 to $15.  Dues help fund projects at Hoover and cover PTSA expenses.  $15 is in line with other nearby PTAs.

Next PTSA (Parent, Teacher & Student Association) General Meeting is February 11

Please join us at the next PTSA General Meeting on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:30PM.  Nominations for next year’s officers and chairs will be presented.

The PTSA general meetings are held in the Media Center (Library) in the main Hoover building. The meetings start at 6:30PM.  Please join us to hear what is going on at Hoover Middle School and make a difference!

So far this year the PTSA accomplishments include:

Contributed to the replacement cost for Hoover’s golf cart batteries.  The cart is used to quickly move around the school campus for monitoring and safety.
Scholarship for ACE (After Class Enrichment) students, reducing the per class cost. Visit ACE’s web site for more information: afterclassenrichment.com .
Contributed to funding for two new projectors.
Participation at the 1st Annual Hoover Holiday Lighting & Honors night.
Volunteers supply refreshments for school staff/teacher meetings.
Secured & coordinated donation of clothes dryer for school needs
