Reminder: The PTSA is still seeking candidates for next year’s board officer and chair positions. We have open positions, so we need your help. Please considering volunteering, and if you know 5th grade parents that will attend Hoover Middle next year, please pass along this message.

The deadline for officer elections is looming, so please contact the PTSA soon. The nominating committee will present a slate of candidates at the Tuesday March 22nd PTSA meeting. The meeting starts at 6:30PM in the Media Center (Library).
The Hoover Performing Arts Boosters Club is hosting a Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser, catered by Antonella’s Restorante, on Thursday, March 17 2016, 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Hoover Middle School Media Center.
The ticket sales deadline has been extended, and there are tickets still available, get your tickets before they sell out! Form & payment must be submitted by Tuesday, March 15, 3PM.
100% of proceeds help offset cost to all Hoover Band and Choir students attending the Southern California Tour May 6-8.

At the February 10th PTSA membership meeting, the members of the Nominating Committee were elected by the membership. PTSA member Michelle Young was elected chairman of the nominating committee. Also on the nominating committee are Sandra McSweeney and Stephanie Ligsay. Thank you Michelle, Sandra and Stephanie!
The nominating committee will present a slate of candidates at the March 16th 22nd PTSA meeting. [UPDATE: March meeting moved to 22nd due to conflict with Hoover Orchestra Concert]. The election of the new board officers will be held at the April 20th PTSA meeting. Time flies, so please let us know ASAP if you are interested in a board position.
Arts on the Green is an important annual open house tradition at Hoover. This year Arts on the Green will be on April 30th. The PTSA will again this year hold a silent auction and raffle during the Arts on the Green event. The PTSA is seeking donations of items for the auction & raffle. We also need volunteers to help contact businesses for donations. A few example of last year auction & raffle items included a wine, chocolates, restaurant gift certificates, salon gift certificates, coffee shop gift certificates, etc. If you or your employer have an item to donate or you wish to volunteer to help please contact Chris Russell, chris.lee.russell@gmail.com or call/text: 408-416-7626.

Tickets are $5 for students $10 for adults.
Volunteers from the Hoover Performing Arts Boosters will have refreshments for sale including: pizza, ice cream and snacks.Pizza is $2 per slice and other snacks are .50-$1.
Please come and enjoy the show, and support the performing arts program at Hoover. All proceeds help fund the performing arts program.
Wednesday, February 3rd, Hoover will be hosting an Honors Night for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who earned a 3.0 GPA or above during the fall semester. Invitations were sent home to students who earned an award.
In the past, parents have pitched in to provide both manpower and (lots of) cookies for this event. Please consider signing up to help.
Drop off cookie donations in the main office before end of school on Wednesday. Please mark your donations “Honors Night”.
